Matching Deadlines and Departure Dates for 2010

Once you and your host family have agreed to spend a year together, you will then both need to decide on your US arrival date. You can choose a date that suits you and the family best from the list below. 
The “matching deadline” will determine your earliest departure date for the USA.

Please note there must be a minimum of four weeks between the date you have matched with the family and the date you can depart to the USA, as this is the time when you will need to apply for your visa with the US Embassy in either London or Dublin. During these four weeks you will also work on your pre-departure orientation project (PDOP), receive the flight ticket from AuPairCare, go for a check up with your doctor and dentist, pack your bags and say your goodbyes to family and friends. Then before you know it – it will be time to fly to the USA!
